Workshops

4 day introduction workshop to 7 axis milling

Workshop happened in Eberswalde, Germany. Goal was to get a team of international students/designers and teachers to understand the basics of robotics and parametric production design on grasshopper in less than a week. We scanned a human head, reduced the poly count, created an algorithm for wood waste reduction, and generated the milling paths
  • Organizing the workshop.
  • Setting up the robot cell and running tests.
  • Leading a group of students/teachers/designers and having them produce a low-poly head milled out of massive wood.

Robotic nail art piece

Workshop organized by one of the best wood engineering schools in Switzerland, where we showed students how to get started with robotics in a fun way. Their task was to develop an algorithm which was able to generate code for an industrial robot.

  • Organizing the workshop.
  • Setting up the robot cell and running tests the previous day.
  • Leading a group of students/teachers and getting them to have a usable result after 8 hours.

Hot Wire Cutting Workshop #2 @hnee

Workshop happened in Eberswalde, Germany. Goal was to get a team of international students/designers and teachers to understand the basics of robotics and parametric production design on grasshopper in less than a week. We designed and produced Styrofoam molds which will be used to cast concrete foundations for a pavilion

  • Organizing the workshop.
  • Setting up the robot cell and running tests.
  • Leading a group of students/teachers/designers and having them produce Styrofoam molds for concrete casting.

Robot 5 Axis Band Saw Cutting

Workshop organized by one of the best wood engineering schools in Switzerland, where we showed students how to get started with robotics in a fun way. Their task was to develop an algorithm which was able to generate code for an industrial robot. The process was inspired by the GSHED team, which reduces in an amazing way wood loss due to curved shapes

  • Organizing the workshop.
  • Setting up the robot cell and running tests the previous day.
  • Leading a group of students/teachers and getting them to have a usable result after 8 hours.

Hot Wire Cutting Workshop #1 @hnee

Workshop happened in Eberswalde, Germany. Goal was to get a team of teachers/researchers to understand the basics of robotics and parametric production design on grasshopper in less than a week. We designed and hot wire cut a Styrofoam Pavilion

  • Organizing the workshop.
  • Setting up the robot cell and running tests.
  • Leading a group of students/teachers and having them produce a pavilion made out of Styrofoam

7 Axis Foam Milling Workshop

Workshop Introduction workshop to industrial milling

  • Organizing the workshop.
  • Setting up the robot cell and running tests.
  • Leading a group of students/teachers and having them produce a pavilion made out of Styrofoam

Robotic Stick Piling Workshop

Workshop organized by one of the best wood engineering schools in Switzerland, where we showed students how to get started with robotics in a fun way. Their task was to create and develop a complete algorithm which was then used by a Kuka KR60 HA Robot to create a wall structure prototype based on a double curved surface

  • Organizing the workshop.
  • Setting up the robot cell and running tests the day before.
  • Leading a group of students/teachers and getting them to have a usable result after 8 hours. (one day in German and one day in French language)

Kuka Robot Cell Conception / Installation

A robot cell was required to accomplish various tasks in a research institution in Germany, The robot goal was to 3d print, mill and manipulate carbon strands. The complete hardware setup & workshop lasted less than 16 days

  • Cell conception & creation.
  • 3D modelling of the installation
  • Complete installation of the robot, turntable an extra features
  • Complete installation of the safety fence
  • Complete software integration
  • Complete calibration of the cell
  • Instruction & Workshop to the future users

Workshop At Liftlab Geneva 2017

Installation of a laser gate and synchronization between all different units on a 3d printing KUKA robot.

  • Safety concept.
  • Installation of all safety related devices
  • Complete synchronization between different units

Hot Wire Cutting Workshop

Workshop organized by one of the best wood engineering schools in Switzerland, where we showed students how to get started with robotics in a fun way. Their task was to record a sound/song which would generate an algorithm which would bring out a code for an industrial robot. The machine was then hot wire cutting Styrofoam in a spiral shape, and we were able to see the sound waves cut out of the bloc

  • Organizing the workshop.
  • Setting up the robot cell and running tests the day before.
  • Leading a group of students/teachers and getting them to have a usable result after 8 hours.
